Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website and the resume reformatting service. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What I collect

  • The resume you upload, and anything in it. Typically your name, email, phone, location, employment history and education. Please remove anything you would not want a recruiter to see — I do not need a date of birth, a photograph, a national ID or government identification number, and I ask you not to include one.
  • Your order details: the style and package you chose, and any instructions you send.
  • Payment confirmation from Stripe. I never see or store your card number.
  • Site statistics: the cookieless page and click counts described under Site statistics below.

Why, and on what basis

To build the document you paid for, and to deal with you about that order. Where the GDPR applies, the basis is performance of a contract with you.

Who else sees it

Four categories of recipient, and no others. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for advertising.

  • An AI model provider. Reading a resume and routing its content into the right slots is done with the help of a large language model. Your resume text is sent to that provider's API. Under their published API terms they do not train models on it and delete inputs and outputs within 30 days.
  • Stripe, which processes payment and holds the transaction record.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts this site, delivers every page and stores the site statistics.
  • File storage and email used to receive your upload and send your document back.

If a law or a valid legal demand required disclosure, I would comply, and would tell you unless legally barred from doing so.

Transfers

I operate from the United States, and the providers above process data in the United States. If you are in the UK or the EEA, submitting a resume involves a transfer to the US, made under the providers' standard contractual clauses.

How long it is kept

  • Your resume and the documents built from it: 30 days after delivery, then deleted. Ask me earlier and I will delete them earlier.
  • Backups: a deleted file may persist in routine backups for up to 90 further days before being overwritten.
  • At the AI provider: up to 30 days, per their terms, outside my control.
  • Order and payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, and to handle any refund or card dispute. These are order records, not your resume.

How it is protected

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to me, and deletion is real rather than a flag in a database. New York's SHIELD Act requires safeguards appropriate to the size of the business; this is what that means for a one-person practice.

Your choices

Ask me to send you a copy of what I hold, correct it, or delete it, and I will — normally the same day, and within 30 days at the outside. There is no account to cancel and no mailing list you are added to by ordering. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Site statistics

To see which resources people use, this site counts page views and clicks on its own links, such as a template download or the Venmo button. Each count records the page, the website that sent you, any campaign tags in the link you followed, the country and type of device your browser reports, and a visitor code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. No cookies are set, your IP address is not stored, and nothing is shared with advertisers. Counts are deleted after 13 months.

Do Not Track

This site does not track you across other websites and sets no cookies. The page counts above hold nothing that identifies you, so browser Do Not Track signals do not change how the site behaves.

Children

This service is for adults in the job market and is not directed to children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and any change is applied going forward — not retroactively to resumes already submitted under an earlier version.
